Contour Book (ABH)

Saturday, March 7, 2015

When Anastasia first released her contour palette I purchased and I love it. My sister and I use it all the time. And I'm hitting pan in Banana, and Havana. Anastasia about a month ago released two more contour palettes for darker skin tones available on Anastasia site, Sephora, Macy's, and Ulta. The contour kits that are permanent are $40 and the contour book is limited edition for $150. I'm excited she decided to released the book because it wasn't available to purchase and only sent to youtubers, and press. The original one had only 27 shadows and this one has 29 shadows. The two new addition shadows are Ash Brown and Mink. There are 11 more shadows that aren't in any of the palettes but you can purchase them individually on Anastasia site or Macy's. This Contour Book is limited edition and won't be up for all so I would recommend if you a makeup artist. These shadows are great, but then again Anastasia never fails to impress. I won't tell you what you already know "these are very pigmented, blendable, smooth, and there's a color for everyone" because it's all true. But you have to try them for yourselves. Anastasia has suggested what colors to pick out of with your undertone. If you don't know what your undertone well... If your veins on your arm are blue/green: (neutral), green/olive: yellow/golden/olive (warm), and blue/purple: pink/red (cold). The three palettes available for purchase are as followed...

Light to Medium:
Sand, Banana, Vanilla, Java, Fawn, Havana

Medium to Tan:
Havana, 10k, Espresso, Nutmeg, Macchiato, Peaches & Cream

I hope this helps you find the perfect shade. The light colors highlight and make things come forward like undereyes, the bridge of your nose, above your top lip, in the center of your forehead, on your chin, and under the contour line of your cheek bone. Dark colors shade and make area recede like the sides of your nose, your cheek bones, along your jaw line, under your bottom lip to make a fuller lip, and around your forehead blending it towards your hairline.
